Trying to avoid upgrading the firmware on the PS3, but the only game that works is Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Has anyone been able to play any other games? These are the games that I have tried that don't work:
Ridge Racer 7
Resistance: Fall of Man
Call of Duty 3

Why don't you just update your firmware? blink.gif

Yeah, why? If you think someone is going to release a mod that only works on the v1.00 PS3's or seomthing, there is very little chance thats going to happen......

But meh, thats interesting none the less.

After the PSP was released mods allowed users with version 1.00 and 1.50 to run back up games. Versions after this would not work with the mod. This is the reason why I did not want to update the firmware. I decided to upgrade the firmware to v1.02 so I could play more games. Thanks for helping me see the light. Hopefully I won't regret it in the future.

if it wouldnt let you play new games what would be the point anyhow

If you look at what's going on with PSP now, new firmware tools and downgraders are coming out every week to allow homebrew and backups on the new firmware versions. So if there ever is going to be a firmware hack for PS3, there will likely be a downgrader if need be.

Anyway Sony doesn't even tend to update the firmware with better security unless someone figures out how to hack it in the first place. So you are probably safe to download new updates until someone hacks it, then you can worry about it, but until then, you are probably just worrying about nothing.
