I have been researching ways to backup X box games. I have found two ways, one using the xbox and the computer, and the Hotswap method. The question is. Can I just use my computer only to copy and backup games. So far as I read, I cannot find software that will do this.

i dont know for sure, i think they is a drive you can flash that will extract games on the PC like the 360 does, i cant be sure though.

easiest way for me is either just use DVD2Xbox or just FTP straight from the dash to your PC, shouldnt take more than 10-15 minutes, then make your image and burn it.

hi nash, do you mean backing up xbox1 games to play with 360 console? i use a sammy d162c with kreon fw to extract both xbox1 and xbox360 games and burnt them to DVD+R DL media using pioneer 111D with TDB fw. the softwares i used were XBC 2.3 and imgburn. all done using only my pc. this method only allows your backups to play with your modded 360 console. i don't know if this answered your question though?

Yes I mean X box games, not 360. I do want to backup 360 games as well. I will look at the software suggested . I will look for a flash so I can burn them on my computer as well.

Ok, I used the xbc 2.3 and my DVD burner comes up in the tab window, but I cannot read/write anything. I have a HP 630i, dual layer dvd burner. I read that the only one that works correctly is the pioneer 111D.

Can this be my problem?

You will need to connect your xbox360 Drive to your PC to do this or buy one of the few dvd-rom that go in a PC that can handle X360 Extraction (SH-D162C or SH-D163A).
The Pionner drive will not extract the game with Xbox creator. I think you need to read a lot in the Faq Section.
