As promised... Heres a couple things I made a while back some of you are looking for:

Wide Icon Border, This is the Dark Styled wide icon border I made for Wide Icons, looks good for the PM3 Skin


Icon SVN, This is the SVN that is full of Icons...

DVD Posters: Includes 1,000+ DVD Posters for movies...all edited to fit perfectly for XBMC
TV Show Episode Thumbnails: These are Episode Screenshots for a lot of TV Shows. It has been updated for new seasons like Heroes Season 2, Prison Break Season 3, Family Guy/American Dad/Simpsons/etc, etc, etc

As you'll notice a lot of screenshots in this thread don't work, due to the 'pics.apartment808' website going out of business...And I used them for all of my screenshots...I'm not sure if this will ever get fixed...For 1) I cant edit my earlier posts and 2) It will be time consuming finding the screenshots used and uploading them to a new site...and as I have said before, I'm only back for a bit, not staying...

I have 15 or so wide icons but mediaicons is not approving them

approved... i usually do approvals in batches so it takes a few days this way (especially as I have less spare time lately, COD4, rockband, work).

Can someone explain to me why some fill the entire box while others don't. I have a lot of movies with the majority of wide icons work fine but there is 5 or so that work perfectly as shown above.

the icons are different sizes... i believe 760 x 160 are the ones that don't take up the entire space and the ones that do are 760 by 130 (i believe)... its something to do with how xbmc caches the thumbs.... u should open ur icons in paint or something to see the difference in sizes and maybe edit them so they are all the same.

Hi All,

Been playing with the new builds of XBMC after a long time away from it. I decided to go back after pulling my hair out trying to get my XB360 MC working the way I wanted. Bottom line is, M$ will never let that happen.

anyway.. I built a Fedora 8 machine on an old PIII with 1TB available to stream my Entertainment to the XBMC.

I really like the look of the Wide Icons.

My question is.. Are people using/creating wide Icons for their Movies? I notice most are for TV Series and Apps. Just curious what others are doing...

Sorry if this has been addressed in this topic... 90+ pages and a broken "search" feature is not a good mix!

Your right, MS wont let it happen. I use my 360 only for games and TV (I don't feel the MC extender for XBox is as good, plus it sometimes crashes my box).

Either way, yes, people do make wide icons for movies. You can find some at http://mediaicons.org/
Otherwise, there are often people who will do requests here (a few regulars in this thread are exceptional at it).

Last Q... How do you setup the Hierarchy when using these??

For example, right now my Share just a /Movies directory

Then I have sub-directories under that that I browse through inside XBMC.. Like Horror, Animated, Drama, etc,etc.....

If using Wide Icons, I assume I would need a seperate folder for each movie within each Genere? Ex. (/movies/animated/finding nemo/finding nemo.iso. Then in the Nemo folder, I would include the icon file??

If this is correct, is there anyway to launch the movie from the folder view?? I know it's minor, but i'd like to avoid having to open the Nemo Folder to launch the iso.

Or..Is there a better way to organize my files?

DISREGARD PREVIOUS POST.... I figured it out. no need to set it up that way for Wide Icons.. All I need to do is include the moviename.tbn int he same folder as the .iso file and it works... no need for seperate folders for each movie..

to dizturbd: sorry about the text size. i dont have any saves of the icons. So i can't go back & resize the text. It would take me to long to put everything back togther. So sorry about the text size but its a no go on resizing them.
