Hi,

I have a 250gb hdd that i have on my chipped xbox that i want to install on my softmodded box.

The drive was built with Slayers 2.6 so it should just have to be locked with the correct eeprom?!.

So i ran config magic on my softmodded box go the 3 files.

EEpromBackup.TXT
EEpromBackup.cfg
EEpromBackup.bin

I renamed EEpromBackup.bin to eeprom.bin and copied it to xboxhdm/linux/eeprom

then i booted up XboxHDM with the new HDD connected. pushed option 3 at the boot screen

then typed lockhd
I got 3 options
-a
-p
-f

i thought lockhd -a made sense.

i displayed the HDD key and HDD password from EEPROM.

i compared those numbers to the EEpromBackup.TXT and nothing seems to match.

if i look in EEpromBackup.cfg the HDD key does match. Is this write or is something wrong?

Thanks,
mitchell

Did you try the locked HD in your Xbox? Did it work?

I am not really familiar with getting the eeprom from configmagic. Is there any way you can get it from the original HD running the exploit or backup option in evox or unleashx?

Sounds right to me, the locking password is factored between the eeprom serial, the hdd key, and the hdd serial. So therefore, it may be the same eeprom, BUT WILL NOT be the same password due to a different hdd. Hope that makes any sense.

after some rethinking and reading i decided to do a hdd clone of my stock then formate the F partition. all with xboxHDM.

now back to locking.

I tryied locking the drive with the eeprom i got from config magic. it successfully locked but the xbox will not boot. gives me and error code 6.

Whats the deal?

Thanks,
mitchell
