but why? it was an ultimatly pointless movie... everyone knows people are seperatist and slightly racist, and anyone who is more so will see a completely different view of teh movie (ie blame the gangster for shooting ed furlong)...

no offese but its overrated.... pop.gif

I played with a white guy from Canada, that would only listen to rap. He refused to watch the movie no matter how hard or how many people tried to convince him otherwise. Just because of the cover.

If you are already racist it won't change your mind.

I always took that the gangsta would never have shot the kid from T2, if he didn't act racist in the 1st place. I kind of liked that he was killed after he changed his ways. Because, it just goes to show, you can't just say "Sorry sad.gif" and everything goes away.

It carries a nice message and I think it was a well done movie, but I agree its slightly overrated.

I like Ed Norton though, I thought he played the part VERY well.

I don't care much about messages in movies (don't like 'em; don't dislike 'em). The way I see it is that no single piece of entertainment can change the way you think. It can affect you emotionally for a moment, and it may even stick with you for sometime after watching the movie, but changing the way you think is a gradual process (much more gradual as you get older). This movie won't change a racist's beliefs nor will it turn someone into a racist, IMO.

The reason I don't think think this movie is over-rated is because I wasn't exposed to the hype when it was released. I was starting out in the military in '98, and movie/tv watching was at the bottom of my list of things to do. That said, I think this is a fantastic movie. I love it. It's in my top ten all-time favorites. Norton is an outstanding actor. He gets lost in his roles much in the same way Johnny Depp does.

Ed Norton is a far better actor than people give him credit for.

If you liked that, be sure to check out 'Romper Stomper'. Similar subject matter, yet very different (and ifinitely better) wink.gif .
