I picked up some Pelican Gamecube/N64 cables off of Ebay and the composite cables work fine on my Samsung LCD but when I plug in the S-Video cable and switch the input these horrible diagonal black lines literally net the screen. Is this my gamecube or the cables?

..or is it a problem with my Samsung LCD TV?

I'm not sure. Try plugging all the devices into working devices and eliminate possibilities 1 by 1.
