Anyway, get the IDE.

There is a lot of differences.
SATA:

I would recommend SATA as a general rule HOWEVER, SATA still has so many chipset compatibility and configuration issues in general that it is hard for me to recommend it. SATA generally has a speed advantage but IDE definitely has the edge in compatibility/plug and play technology. So, I have to also go with IDE.
