So i tried a backup for the first time. I used Imgburn because i saw a short tutorial and its freeware. I have a SD-S183D samsung dvd burner. when i clicked on the little book in the bottom right it and then selected the samsung drive, it shows my current setting for DVD+R DL media is DVD-ROM. However when i finished the disc and put it back in, Imgburn shows DVD+R DL under book type, shouldnt this say DVD-ROM??? The disc does work however?

The best way to test burned media is to use

i can try that maybe when i get home from work, however does the 360 read discs if the book type is still DVD+R DL? Basically is the book type change more for compatibility only? Like i said Imgburn shows my current settings for +DL discs as DVD-ROM, and personally i can care less what the book type is as long as it works. Just trying to get a better understanding.

I've heard of a few people geting it to work without setting anything but it's pretty rare. It could also be that your particular burner does it automatically (like the Pioneer 111D).
