quick question, is it best to revert back to original firmware first and then up to the a new firmware, or is it ok to just go from a modified firmware to another one straight away?
this is regarding a hitachi 47D drive.

with a hitachi drive, I would reccomend going back to original 1st and then update. the hitachi f/w is not copletely flashed, it is just patched around certain spots. with a samsung you can just flash over an existing flash because it replaces the whole thing.
I guess if others are saying its ok, then I guess it is ok. but I would go back to orig. 1st.
