I am using MS28 Drive with Xtreme 5.2a firmware, after I inserted a backup my Xbox 360 displays a message "An update must be applied to your console to play this game. If you decline this update you will not be able to play this game" Is this an error, or is it safe to update the Xbox if I have my drive flashed with Xtreme 5.2 firmware?

with all respect, if you say it's ok, it this from personal experience? or If I have Xtreme Firmware on my drive is it going to cause Miscrosoft to brick my XBox 360 if I choose to update?

dude, just update. It only updates the cached game contents. We wouldn't have told you to do so if we weren't sure it wouldn't jack you up.

hehe, I trust you all, udate was successful. but it leads me to another question, as far as i've learned, you cannot use backups/Xtreme firmware on XBox Live? and does having modified firware present the potential danger of Microsoft ever putting anything on an original game that would render the drive useless?

does your original say that you need to update too? why not pop that in and let it update and report in and let us know how it went.
