HackMy360
I have burned 3 backups all mine of course with xbox backup creator 2.3 using the samsung drive with kreon v.81 and none want to work on my 360 with hitachi 47DJ gears of war and nba2k7 boot up and right before the game will start I get the unrecognized disc error. I have a pioneer 111D burning with imgburn but have tried clone cd, dvd decrypter and still nothing using verbatim media. The only backup that has worked is tony hawk project 8 and that one I made using the swap method and merging the ss file which I don't think I made right but it works! so I am confused.

Hi HackMy360,
In fact there is a good news and it is that you have one working so that means that your x360 flashed drive is OK, and your burning made using imgburn is OK (i am assuming that is what you used for the one working) and good media.
Using the exact same setup to burn as the one working allows you to get rid of many uncertainties.

In order to know if the problem for you is XBCr or your kreon (some people had to redo the flash of 0.81 again), I could suggest you try Schtrom 3.1 or the isobuster/dvdinfopro with your sh-D162C. If that works then it is your install of XBCr playing tricks on you. If not, your SH-D162C/Kreon is probably not 100%. Always burn with the method that has worked before.

Moved to backup forum.

Yea its really weird because the backups maded with the kreon drive and backup creator all start but 2 minutes into the game it just says unrecognized disk and when I made the tony hawk backup I used wxripper and ss merger but I couldn't get the ss to match and burned anyways and it works 100% its also alot quiter when playing. I tried the gears of war backup using Schtrom 3.1 and burned with imgburn but same problem.
I will try the iso buster method tonight and post results. Thanks alot

HI hackmy360,

It is not a problem in SSmerger if you have the two red fields at the bottom, I have never used the database (always got the two red fields) and it works. It is not needed for the merge to be done correctly.

I would try another game with wxripper (before isobuster) to confirm that method really works and it was not a luck the first time.

Then If isobuster is not woking , it would really points towards your SH-D162C, Maybe it is just to reflash it, or maybe that unit is marginal in terms of its reading capabilities sad.gif.

well I tried the wxripper method again tonight using call of duty 3 and I now I get an error message to put in an xbox 360 game. I extracted the ss using backup creator 2.3 and ripped the game using a spare dvd drive
(same one used to rip tony hawk 8) and cannot get it to work. The samsung drive is brand new so I don't know whether that is the problem came loaded with kreon 81. I think it may be my hitachi drive because I had to adjust the pot setting all the way from 3.8 to 3.0 to get my backups to read but so far tony hawk is the only one that boots without any problems all the rest give me the unreadable disk error.

By the way soso, have you flashed your drive? If so what brand and version do you have? have you had any luck getting backups to work? If your backups work what method are you using? let me know

areyou setting your layerbreak at 1913760? probably, just in case.

I am hitachi 47DJ, with FW 2.1 (too lazy too upgrade smile.gif ). I personally use XBCr/sh-d162C ,and burn using IMGburn using the .iso file and layerbreak set manually (i do not like using the .dvd file). Always on verbatim at 2.4 or 4X with booktype at DVD-ROM.

Do you have friend were you could bring your original and corresponding backup to test if they are OK. If so you would know the problem is not the backup.
