Mr Novice
I have a Hitachi Drive v47 w/XTRM v2.3 Rev2 and have made several successful backups with a SH-D162C w/Kreon v.81 using verbatim media. For the past several weeks my backups have been working with out issue but tonight they seem to have stopped working. They do not load at all. sad.gif I'm not sure if I got a dashboard update from M$ or not but it was plugged into the network. My originals work without issue. Any help would be greatly appreicated!!!! Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

More info is needed: What burn programs did you use, what media?
Mr Novice
Media: Verbatim DVD+R DL
Burner: NEC-6650a with bitsetting set to DVD-ROM
Software: Xbox Backup Creator v2.3.0.185
Reader: SH-D162C w/Kreon v.81

It sounds like the drive is having trouble reading the disk. The it will say "open tray" or "unplayable disc". The problem is that the drive doesn't sound like there are any issues reading the originals. I have tried restoring to orig fw and then back to XTRM v2.3 Rev2 but same issues. When I put an original game in the drive reads/sounds fine. All of the backups worked without issues for weeks. Could this be a bad drive? sad.gif

Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

I also just tried "Birdy Hitachi-LG friendly Flasher v2 2" because I saw were it might help people using NEC-6650a. I got the same errors. I then flashed back to orig fw and figured I would try to playa game for the first time in a few days. With the original fw and original game after a min or so I started getting "This disc is unreadable" Error. I have gotten that on several originals now. grr.gif I'm leaning toward drive failure. If this is the case should I get another hitachi or go with a samsung. sad.gif

Let me know what you guys think!
