I buggered up my Hitachi 59DJ and as a way to fix it I thought id go down the slightly more expensive than sending the drive and getting the flash flashed with a willem programmer and bought a new drive off ebay
the problem is that the new drive is a ms25
which i can flash and have flashed before, but I have the drive key for my hitachi (R.I.P.)
do i use the same textbook method to flash but boot into windows in between reading and flashing to input my own key?
and should i be spoofing anything?

I have also been told this may not work at all, so any help is appreciated. thanks.

yeh,,
just replace the key with fw toolbox then sppoof the drive as your Hitachi (59dj) and then just flash you drive and you are all set....

That method is for hitachi key sectors only. Samsungs must be flashed from dos.

Your samsung firmware has to report as a v59 hitachi or you will recieve E66.

If you have a original backup firmware (orig.bin or whatever) from your hitachi, you can use this program to make a flashable extreme.bin for your samsung.
