High,
I have a question about HD vrs. Blue-Ray. No its not the standard which is better ?. I had an extra 35 dollars yesterday and decided that I wanted to actually buy a HD movie for my 360 rather than renting it from Netflicks. The problem is. Although when I look at the amount of titles available for HD and Blue-Ray they seem to have about the same amount of titles available. Problem is that I wanted something that had alot of good CG stuff and alot of action. Well most of the titles available for HD seem to be pretty LAME. Aside from Superman Returns and Batman Begins and 1 or 2 other titles there was nothing really worth shellin out 25-30 dollars for. But then I looked at the Blue-Ray selection and they seemed to have ALOT better selection of titles. One that grabbed my attention was Saw 3 among other action titles. It seems to me that Blue-Ray has a better selection of good titles that actually would show off my HDTV's resolution while HD has alot of boring and crappy titles. Has anyone else noticed this?
Then I went online and looked at a couple of sites for upcoming HD and Blue-Ray releases and next month Blue-Ray had something like 10-12 titles coming and HD had like 3. Same for April and so on. WTF? IS HD giving up?

it hasnt even been out long enough, once the players prices start dropping along with hdtv user base growing more titles will be released.

HD-DVD is not giving up, and neither is Blu-ray.

Both have almost equal amount of titles (HD-DVD= 151 titles. Blu-ray= 157 titles.) And their are good titles for both, HD-DVD has King kong, Constatine, and Chronicles of Riddick while Blu-ray has Saw, Matrix, and Fifth Element.

I personally think that both have equally interesting titles, it's just a matter of being able to continuosly give out more titles than the other.

not in the slightest, last month when i checked HD-DVD had about 130 titles available and Blu-ray had about 150, HD-DVD just gave out about 20 titles for the holiday while Blu-ray gave out about 10. This month the roles have been switched.

Check out Serenity. Good flick. Or Jet Li's Fearless.

Well Blu-Ray does have more companies backing it up, including a variety of studios, so it'll only be time before they either push out so many movies HD-DVD loses (gasp!) or More studios support both formats or go over the HD-DVD and HD-DVD wins! (yay!) happy.gif

Having both Xbox360 and PS3, I am kind of on the fence about either. I refuse to buy a movie @$30+. That being said, I believe the battle is far, far from over. Some sites have done side by side comparisons on same titles for each format and HD-DVD has actually been a favorite. But the most promising news for HD-DVD has come from the end-all-be-all voice in technology acceptance..... the porn industry. The Porn industry has announced their adoption of the HD-DVD format instead of Blu-Ray. I don't need to remind what they did for the VHS format over Beta and the early acceptance of DVD.

Well, the Matrix flix are comin out for HD-DVD as well...as well as the LOTR movies.....pretty much all the big titles from Warner(neutral), Universal, Paramount(neutral), Weinstein Co.....Blu-Ray has the Buena Vista stuff(Disney, Dimension, Miramax), Sony, MGM, and Lionsgate....it's still too early to tell who's gonna win, I was gonna stick with HD-DVD, but there's too much stuff comin out for BR that I want, so I might get a PS3 for BR movies, and *gasp* a game or two laugh.gif

I've noticed that the only people that actually buy Blu-Ray movies are people that own PS3s (5 people). Can anyone guess why?

My guess would be because after you beat Resistance, there is not much else to do with that $600 paper weight.

I guess I just wish that HD would come out with some better movies than what they have been releasing. I guess what is "Good" is subjective but even a monkey can see that Blue-Ray is currently releasing a better selection of movies.
Does anyone know when "Spiderman 1 and 2" and "(but)Pirates of the Carribean 2" and "StarWars" will cum out on HD? I can see shelling out 30 for those movies.
