Hey guys,

My softmodded xbmc was working just fine, then I upgraded to a 200GB drive, and am getting some probs...

Clicking "My Programs" brings up a black screen. I have to hit B twice to get back to startup screen, then it works fine.

"My Videos" appears to work fine, but trying to play any format of video (.avi, .rar'ed .avi, .iso of dvd, .vob, etc.) causes a system freeze which requires a reboot. All videos, including SMB networked work fine if I play them from "My Files."

"My Music" works just fine.

Oh, Apple movie trailers works only if I switch to MC360 skin...

Specs:

Xbox v1.0
Kernel 1.0.4034.1 (Bios 4034 retail)
Maxtor 6L200P0 HDD
Built with xbhdm (v1.9 I think) F: drive enabled, no G:
Splinter Cell soft-modded
12/29/06 dashboard w/ PM3 skin from **Do not Post Links to such sites here**

Do I need different bios or what? I tried searching the forums extensively, sorry if a similar prob has been covered already. Loving my xbmc though, especially HRHD xvid output to my 51" Hitachi love.gif

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't... You think my cache is just full? It runs everything fine from "My Files" so I didn't think of that, but it's worth a try.

Thanks for the response.

I thought this post got moved or deleted or something and I just now found it. THANKS AGAIN I'm really trying to solve this issue because I don't feel like "downgrading" to my 40GB drive that I have collecting dust - or worse yet the stock 4GB.

I had a friend who had this problem, reinstall XBMC completely from scratch.
mtsaint
i think you need a bios that supports hard drives larger than 67 gigabytes. i think its called a LGA bios.
without it a large HDD is useless because you cannot properly be formatted. i wouldnt try to reinstall XBMC
from scratch just yet u can use the bios u have now it just has to be reformatted there are a couple of programs for this evtool is one of these goodluck

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. cool.gif I wish I had news to report, but I'm just stoopid busy...

I need to get a newer build of xbmc, and maybe by a different release group. Plus I think my old dashboard etc are still backed up somewhere on my drive - I'll prob get rid of those as well just in case.

Hopefully I'll have some results to post here in the near future.

Oh, and mtsaint, my box is showing a 200GB drive, and I'm able to use all space, but if a re-install doesn't work, I'll be exploring bios stuff further...

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME

Latest t3ch build works wonderfully:

Upgraded the MC360 1.0 to Blackbolt's MC360 1.02 and of course it's beautiful:

...and that's all it took. I took the extra step of backing up most of my media before the upgrade, but it proved to be unnecessary. I'm back to my XBMC bliss cool.gif

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
