So I organized the system window today and added the ability to download themes for the skin, from the skin.
And here is the script dialog. It will automatically install the themes into the media folder so all you have to do is apply them.
I would like to thank Donno for letting me rip off the script from MC360, edit it and use it for xTV.

I love the latest changes in this build. I'm wondering if this is possible:
Can you have a context menu show up on the main menu? If so, I'd be nice to be able to choose 'Scan For New Content' or 'Clean Library' from a context menu while on the main menu.
Right now, to scan for new content of TV Shows folder, you have to go into TV Shows, switch to folder view, find the root folder and then white button>Scan for new content. If I could bring that submenu up from the Home screen, that would be PHENOMENAL. Its just a thought/question. Don't know if its an xTV or and XBMC one though.

Wonderful job on the skin! This is by far my favorite and the improvements just keep making it better.
question for everyone else. I updated the skin on sat. night, which I had not done since it first came out. Using the tv shows button I was able to set content and it went through and added all the info and even pics for the folders and such. On sun. T3ch sent out a new build of XBMC and I updated that. Now all of the pics are gone and just a plain white folder sits in its place. Any suggestions? I have tried using the add content again but no luck. Is there a prefs file I can delete or something to make it re-download that info? Thanks in advance!

What do you think of the revised xmls included with Glow?
I realise there is still some adjustments to make:
Album art in playslist (just 16:9 mode) doesn't have the keep aspect tag.
And the mini controls (start button) for music isn't well positioned. Didn't see that one at all.
Would it be possible to make the file browser more like PMIII (imo the best filemanger) as the names get clipped off in xTV. They seem to be coded differently?

I did, and copied it back to the xbox after the update finished loading. I did not delete the one from the new XBMC install, I just told it to overwrite that one with my back up

I think I am all caught up now, finally.
I added the xmls for the smart playlist stuff today and also fixed the music osd lyrics button to open the XBMC Lyrics script that comes with the T3CH releases now and added the skin xmls for it.

It looks like with this latest build, I cant get the Now Playing style visualization that mimics the AppleTV. Was this intentionally removed? I tried all the combinations of the Skin Settings checkboxes to try and figure out what i was missing. It will just default to the black backround with no album art or track information.
Just wondering.

There's been an issue since the menu was changed around
as you can see the selection bar is cut short while in information and skin settings
and the selection icons have changed position as well
I'm using the latest from svn and latest XBMC

No, its not wrap view. Pretty much all xbox skins has the option i'm looking 4. If u have 4 movies named Star Wars_cd1, Star Wars_cd2 ect.......the option i'm looking for will show little cd images above the picture with a little hand over the cd u select. Jezz, could u hook up a little mod with this feature for xTV? I know u know what i'm talking about.

Yeah that is my fault, I forgot to upload the defaults.xml in the last update. It should be all fixed up now, in the svn and in the link in my sig.

Ahhhhhhh, you are talking about file stacking. I did neglect to do that. I will put it on the to-do list.

You might want to add transparent apple icons for the file stacking. This would go very well with your creative skin.

Hey mate, ignore my comment on XBMC forums, as this is exactly what i was referring to. Incidentally, I have the latest build from you (as of yesterday evening) and it is still doing the same thing?

Hate to be a pain but I am still battling this issue. I did save my user data folder and reloaded it after the latest XBMC update. Any help would be great!

if its an SMB network share, then try to add folder.jpg into the folder of the share. This way the pic stays the same whether you update XBMC or not.

The link in my sig is fixed, and as far as I can tell the svn fontcolors.xml was never messed up. And about the button widths, I fixed that like 2 hours after I commited it.

chi3f, quick question!!
does the intro mod in your sig work with xtv since u added the tv button, i tried it a while ago and it completely broke the skin, i was stuck on the home screen and couldnt click or move anything...
had to boot into unleashx to fix it!!!!

Yeah it should but I have not updated it in like a week or so, so I would not suggest using it cause the xmls in the mod are outdated.

Ok, new problem. After updating to the latest version of xtv all of the text is missing. The icons are still there and the boxes around the text are still there but I can't see any text at all. I'm totally stumped. Gonna try to grab a back up of an older version to see if it works. all of the other skins work fine as well. Any ideas at all?
Update: Ok, going back to a previous version seems to be working fine. I'm a little nervous updating now as I don't know what the issue was from before.

you say you got the latest version. this from the svn or chi3fs link? there was a prob a while ago where chi3f ran code through clean up prog which totally borked it... should be fine now, (jez_x helped cleaning up) use svn and you should be fine.
BTW chief, on movie information etc, can you add button to see next page of information...was looking at some film plots but can only see first half of text. cheers bud

Normally I do not contribute much to forums, but having spent the last several hours installing xTV, and changing my TV programs to fit the new naming convention and movies I'd like to say well done.
Excellent theme, and once you embrace the new library mode it is ace.
One question if I may?
I have the TV Shows setup, and they work great. Filename format "name.S??E??.avi".
I have added all my movies to the database too, which took some time. However when I select my movie folder, I have to press the left arrow button on the remote controller, and then manually select 'Library Mode". Is there anyway for this to be the default option when opening the movie folder?

You can have the Library Mode be the default for your Movies section. Under Skin Settings, I believe the bottom choice is the toggle to have the Movies section be in Library Mode by default.

Hi, o.k, I have looked at over 53 pages and theres no ending, (spent few hours reading. search option was not working)when I try and run the apple trailers the launcher goes off and I end up with the following message
There was an error setting up controls, check the skin file.
Q:\scripts\apple movies trailers\skins\default.py
I can't see where this Q drive is coming from or how I can go about fixing the problem.
I have XBMC-2007-05-27-PIMPED-linksboks installed at the moment. also tried t3ch version(still no go under xtv skin). some one please.. HELP ME

You need a skin file for apple script that matches xTV. not sure if chi3f ever got round to finishing it. check his signiture it might be available to download.
