Are you guys just overwriting the skin? You are gonna have to delete the whole xTV folder and replace it with the updated one.

And I accidently uploaded the fontcolors.xml while using the white theme again. The font colors are returned back to default again. I also put the line of code that controls how long it takes for the now playing screen to come up in there. I am doing that cause I am devising a way to change it to your liking without eidting any xmls. So just update again and do a clean install and all should be well.

Hey CHI3f, I would like to make a feature request. The list view is great for my games It looks perfect,
but on my music its a bit blurry its hard to find all the pictures of the bands and albums at sizes great than, 200 X 200. And i dont want to redo all my folder.jpg's cuz I have over 170 bands...
Is there any chance you could make a 2nd list view thats about 15-30% smaller in image size.

Dude I am sorry but there is no way I am gonna make a list view with smaller icons as a skin default. Later today I could whip up a mod for ya but that is about it.

Yea thanks CHI3f that mod wud be sweet,... It was more of a personal request then a feature request i suppose.. Either link me the xml's, I tried to make my on list view "list2" but it didnt come up in the popup box.
I edit the commonviewtypes.xml, mymusicnav.xml in the pal16X9, Im using 720p.
But I didnt get it working, could you tell me what files to edit, theres probable some in pal but I wasnt sure?

yeah i did a clean install.

just updated again: now the now playing screen doesnt pop up at all. while playing music on the home-screen nothing pops up and while listening to music in a folder the overlay in the top corner will fade out when the big now-playing should come into view but.... nothing.

edit: ok it does pop in but first everything happens like i just posted, then music visualisations kick in and then quite some time later, now playing apears.

SmokeyFingaz If you want the "Now Playing screen to come up faster just edit the musicoverlay.xml in the pal16x9 or pal and change all the (64) to what ever you want, I have mine set to (24), for 24 seconds of idle time before the now playing screen pops up

after using this theme almost every movie from my hd started to lag and even freeze.

After applying another theme everything works fine... does anyone else have this isssue?

When using the white theme, the visualization screen has black text which cannot be read because of the black background, also when you launch the lyrics script the pop-up box is white and the text is white making it hard to read

I edited the musicoverlays.xml and got nothing the now playing screen still doesnt come up,

Hey Chief, love the skin.
Been using the album information scan for music, all is well, it gets the thumb and information from the internet but next time you go to album information for the same album it starts the search again, can this information be saved, So second time around the xbmc doesn't have to search the internet

I'm not sure if this is a Skin problem or a xbmc problem let me know so I can try and get this sorted...

Yes that was totally my fault again. Like I said I have been doing some messin around with being able to change the timeout using a script and that timeout was changed while I was doing it and i just forgot to change it back. It is fixed now and by tommorrow I will be done and you guys can edit the timeout yourselves without editing any xml's.

That fading background is blue, and yeah I know it is black. I am working on everything just gimme time. I am more concerned with bugs at the moment and I will get to the minor annoyances later.

That is not a skin problem that I know of. I hope I am wrong cause that does kinda suck.

All those thumbs are in .tbn format which can't be viewed using the picture viewer that I know of. I tried setting a folder that has a defualt.tbn in it and I was not even able to see it from MyPictures so there is nothing I can do about it.

So just finished with the timeout changing option. It works well enough for now. I am not able to make it work using a custom.cof file with your own specified timeout yet but I have a few presets in there - 30 seconds,1 minute,2 minutes,3 minutes,4 minutes, and 5 minutes. That is the best I can do for now.

Remember to do a clean install.

Shoot, I saw this screen shot and I got all excited for a second. I thought it was a screen shot of xTV running from a Mac OS X version of XBMC. That would be awesome, XBMC on a Mac, too bad it will probably never happen. Great theme anyways though.

clean install and latest XBMC build
have open window set to 'Videos'
on start up Video window comes up but no icons appear and the overlay w/

That is weird, it works fine for me and the xmls you guys have are the ones straight off my xbox for the most part so I dunno why it is not working for you.

So I setup a new svn repository with all the goodies in it. There was no way in hell I was giving anyone my google code username and password.

Here is the the address you can use to checkout the whole thing with your svn client or you can just click it to browse and download one at a time:

It contains all the themes made so far for xtv and also contains the xTv changelog, YouTube2, and XinBox scripts all skinned to xTV. Make sure you read the WARNING.txt that is in the scripts folder so we do not have any misunderstandings.

On a side note. CHI3F is possible to implement a way of having a background visualisation playing behind the skin like in MC360. I know it might not be to everyones taste but with an option to turn on and off would be nice.

With all these great themes coming out, perhaps someone could take a few screenshots highlighting the current state of the svn set to defaults? Anyone browsing the topic for the first time would have no idea just how good the skin looks untouched. I'll do this tonight if no one else gets to it before me. I'd especially like to do a few comparison shots to Apple TV, not to mention some show off stuff like the wraplist for media and some shots of front page/normal list view of media and the osd for music and video. Wish I could do this now, but I'm stuck at work.

Thanks for that Terc. I just hope the .xpr works okay as I have never had to create one myself as I use a Mac and I'm at work at the minute and this is the only place I have access to a PC to build the .xpr. I haven't had a chance to even test it myself. I have just been working off the .pngs myself when I worked on it.

Nubbs allready suggested this and I told him how to do it, but I am not gonna add background animations to the skin. I just think it would look weird.

What I was meaning was when you are playing a song and say after a period of 15 secs or so your main fullscreen visualisation starts to play behind your home screen etc. Maybe I am just being stupid and just can't remember how to turn on but I think would be a nice feature. Again if you can point me in the direction of the bit of Code I need to have a look at it would be greatly appreciated. Also thanks for that code as I'm gonna play about with that and see what I can come up with.

OK, it is the same principal. Here we go.

Open the includes.xml in the PAL folder if you use 4x3 and the PAL16x9 if you use widescreen or both if you choose.

almost at the top of the xml you will find this

Both of those will let you have a solid background till music or video starts playing then it will go opaque and you will see the vis or video behind it. Let me know if it dosen't work, I didn't test this before I wrote it, I just did it off the top of my head. Oh and you are gonna have to either reload the skin after making the changes or restart xbmc for the changes to take effect.

This is probably a very dumb question...

When I am playing music, how do I bring up the OSD that would alow me to select the lyrics script. I did it once a few builds back using my "menu" button on my remote, but now "menu" brings me back to the home page when music is playing.

If menu does not bring up the osd then you must be using a modified keymap.xml. If you are you can open the UserData folder in the XBMC folder and open the keymap.xml and just look for a section that is labeled <FullscreenVideo>

and in that section you should see button commands that look like this
<menu>osd</menu>

or whatever yours may look like. Anyway whatever you see that has the osd in it is the button that brings it up.

Thanks - but my keymap has exactly the same. It works fine for when I am watching videos (press menu, OSD appears) but not for music. Is there a different setting for that>

I am getting something weird. With Xtv skin my videos start dropping frames and becomes jerky. Checked the same videos against PMIII, and it doesn't do the same thing.

Checked the debug log and when it starts dropping frames, tons of the following entries are appearing:
