anyone successfully backup fusion frenzy 2? i goto xbc and try to read but gives me an error "unable to determine the current visible partition". I tried to just do the PFI, SS, and DMI sectors, then tried to just read the current partition but it then gives an error "read failed". this worked before for STL and march madness 07. Really strange.
Using:
samsung with KREON .81
pioneer 111d
Thanks.

does it say Used size = 5.32mB?
if so yes it is the same problem,
before you try extracting the Current Partition you must press the Unlock twice
or use isobuster

nothing wrong really, that is the way it is.
extract all pieces seperately as per the
StarTrek legacy Thread and join them using ssmerger.

Hi,
Great forum. You've all been a great help. Here's my problem. I have the Samsung with kreon firmware and have installed the nme 1.2 chip. Everything works great with schtrom360 and imgburn. Of course this Fuzion Frenzy 2 is different. So I read on this forum how to use XBC and extract partition only and extract ss,pfi and dmi seperately and merge with ssmerger 1.7b. So everthing works fine and I choose not to add video partition and choose pad with blank and leave create a nme compatible iso. Everything looks fine and I hit the merge button. This only takes about 15 seconds and says everthing is okay and to burn with clonecd. So I burn with imgburn and when I pop the disc in it just says reading and doesn't do anything. So I thought perhaps I should run through nme associator. So I do the whole thing again and same result. The only thing I notice on ssmerger is that the ssfile: is still red and the required ss file is blank along with the nme ss. So I'm wondering if somebody much smarter than I could shed some light onto what I might be missing or doing wrong. I am burning dual layer verbatim on pioneer 111d. This is of course the first one that I haven't have any luck with. Since I have burned 2 coasters any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice and keep up the good work.
Thanks
Phil

I will try, but less familiar with Nme stuff

,
I am assuming you have made backup for your nme before and that this one only is causing you problem
1) I would say since the other games work for you do it all with ss merger and then apply nme patch the same way as other game. or
2) Put everything together with ssmerger except the ss file, then use the merge tab in associator to insert the ss file in the image.
good luck

Thanks,
But that didn't work. I did try #1, no luck.
SSmerger won't let me merge files without ss file
Tried associator to insert file after extracting with xbc, no luck either.
Hopefully someone else with this same problem has resolution.
Will keep pluggin along.
Appreciate the help though

put the ss in with ssmerger to get a file, then still use the merge tab in associator and force the ss again (instead of using the conver tab). Some people had to do that for all their nme game.

you know what, nme images are functional in a Flashed Drive.
You need to know where is the problem, in the image or the NME patch.
Find a friend that has a working setup with flashed Drive. Bring your original and backup to test them on his X360. It will tell you if the problem is the NME patch or the rest of the image.
hope it helps, rgds,soso

I'm still having problems with this game. Using an SH-D162C, I extracted the current partition with XBC, then the SS, PFI, & DMI. Then I merged it all with ssMerger. Using the stealth check feature on XBC it says "PFI Failed. Unknown Data."
I did this process with Star Trek Legacy without any problems. Why is it just that one sector fails?

yes and it is not a problem, what you extracted is probably good.
STL had the same, the video part was a different size, and the PFI is different than usual.
Not to worry

In ssmerger say no when it ask “Do you want to calculate… and verify online…” (not sure if the database even exist anymore, I never uses that).
It is not a problem if you have the two red fields at the bottom, I have never used the database (always got the two red fields) and it works.
It is not needed for the merge to be done correctly and we do not support the use of such database at XS.
When it says "... is xtreme ... lenght" that is good, click ok and continue

when i click "ok"..is something suppose to pop up?? cause i click ok and it just sits there at SSmerger...after i click ok..does that mean i just go to CloneCD and burn the image?? thanks.

you need to make the effort to go thru the doc describing these (pinned at the top
Backup Faq - Everything* You Need To Know PLEASE READ BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS! )
here is a tutorial using ssmerger. If I remember correctly after you selected all your files (and click ok on the lenght popup) you select at the bottom 'Pad with blank' and deselect NME, and hit the big yellow 'merge and create' button.

Having problems backing up Fusion Frenzy 2.
I have a .81 Kreon drive and heres what Ive done so far.
Im using XBC v2.3
In drive tools I press the unlock button twice to recognize correct partition size
I select Current partition and back that up
I go back to drive tools and backup the SS, PFI, and DMI and save them to the same folder as the iso
Then I launch SS Merger 1.7b
I put in FF2 for the game name, then select my iso, ss, pfi, and dmi files that I backed up
In Settings I have the following options checked:
add video partition
pad with blank
imgburn cobramb1 fix
xbo360 disc label
I leave create a nme compatible iso unchecked
I merge my iso and everthing seems to be working fine at this point.
I then used XBC v2.3 to burn the game at 2.4x on memorex media.
I know memorex doesnt have thr best reputation, but I have had zero probelms with it and have made aound 20 backups.
Anyways, I popped the backup into my 360 (ms28 with xtreme 4.2) and it played just fine on the 1st try.
However, I cant get the backup to play again. I keep getting the dirty disc error now. On one attempt, the game almost booted, I got the opening credits and such, and then the dirty disc error.
Does anyone know why this might be happening? I havent had any problems with other backups up to this point. Ive been hesitant to upgrade the firmware on my ms28 because of some of the problems ive read people have had with it.

I would burn it again on Verbatim, in the origianl start trek thread someone mention that for these specific games he had to use better media.
If it has played, likely the image is OK. Have you tried you other original and backup?
YOu could also try the two reading speed of your drive.

I got a good working backup now.
I backed up the game again with my drive read speed set at 2x. I still burned on memorex media because thats the only kind I had around at the moment, but its working just fine now.
