is it possible to party chat ??? i.e. three or more ppl on a private chat ?

I don't believe it's possible as of now, but here's a suggestion:
If there are X amount of people that have the same game, then open a private multiplayer session and invite only the people you want to speak to. So, you're basically using the pre-game lobby as a chat room. You can sit there as long as you like.
