I recently won a 360 off eBay for cheap, advertised with the 3-ring red lights problem, flashing as always and displaying nothing at all on the TV. So I left it on for about 4 hours and just switched it off, then switched it back on again...and now it's working! blink.gif

WTF? So why did that happen? So far it's working fine with games and everything, but...why would leaving the console on for a few hours suddenly bring the console back to life?

I don't know... but did you get a good deal on it because it was supposedly busted? How cheap was it?

CONSIDER your self lucky i dont thin that usally fixes it but then again i never really tried leaving it on for that long

Got it for $100, buy it now, which I snagged minutes after it was listed. tongue.gif What is the primary cause of the red light failure anyway...it's overheating, isn't it? Or did leaving it on for a while to heat up do the same thing a heatgun would do?

Im no expert, but I would so due to metal expanding when it gets hot either its had a cold solder joint or a short somewhere... The excess heat has temporary fixed the prob and you will most likely run into trouble again down the road....

Or maybe you got lucky, wish you luck. smile.gif

My thoughts exaclty.......and maybe what fixed it was a bumpy ride in the postage.....a bump on the console couldve cause the solder joints to join a bit better
