Does anyone know of a good desktop calender? Preferably one that will let me insert important dates and comes with a clock. I have rainlender right now but I'm looking for somthing else, thanks in advance.

Calanderhaha... just kiddin... never had the need for an external calander... I mainly use the one built into lotus notes for work and sync it to my cell... so I'm usually always in the know of what I have planned... I'll look around if I get a chance for something like what you want

Holidays don't come with it so you'll have to download an .ics file. It's just sets all the public holidays specific for your country, reagon, religion, etc.
once you have your ics open sunbird, click >File>Import
<sunbird><mozzila ics files><more ics files>
