Hello everyboy,

I m new in the forum and new in the xbox360 scene...

I have bought a xbox360 premuim (hitachi drive) on ebay with overheating problem for 100$ but still in warranty..

I send the xbox to microsoft support and they give me back a new xbox360 ==> cool a new xbox for 100$ but actually the new xbox360 have a Benq drive

i have 2 questions i read several post to changing the dvd drive and extract the key of the original dvd drive

first question :

Is it possible to extract the key from a benq dvd drive and use this key in a hitachi or samsung dvd drive

second question :

i find on ebay some resellers who sell hitachi and samsung dvd drive

What the best drive i can use if i can change the benq drive samsung or hitachi

I thank everybody for your answer

Best regards

1) not yet, hopefully soon

2) I would definately wait for 1) to happen. When they find how to connect and extract, you could get a hacked firmware soon after and anyway there is nothing you can do until then sad.gif .
If you come to that choice, and based on current features of respective Drive, I would go samsung before hitachi.

Thanks a lot for you answer

I know what i must do now waiting and don't buy a samsung or hitachi

I hope they can find soon a solution for benq user

Best regards

I agree with sosotiit, waiting for a hacked FW for BenQ is the way I would do also. The fact that the BenQ drive is so much more silent than the other drives makes it well worth the wait for a hacked FW to get released imo.
