Hey all,

My buddy just screwed up his XBL subscription by accidentaly logging onto Xbox Live with his mod chip on (idiot hehe).

I was wondering.. maybe a good feature for Ava would be a port blocker or something similar.

Here are the ports Xbox Live uses:

UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074

Can we block these? laugh.gif

yes...

Any good firewall will let you do it.

but even so, the eeprom will still be recorded and sent when you do log on, its the same as unpluggling the ethernet cord doesn't help because whenever you do access any live tabs your eeprom is recorded regardless if you have a network connection or not

I doubt thats how they do it dude. Where do they store the information about the "modded eeprom" when you are offline?

On the hard drive? Wouldn't we be able to see it...

i believe they flag something in the eeprom itself. note that eeprom != bios

And unflag a bit in the eeprom when you turn the modchip off? Hardly.

You know I always see these types of posts, about how to keep from getting banned from Live....

It's really sad because I have a five year old son who plays a few games on Live, and he has yet to get the eeprom on his Xbox banned, yet we have many teenagers and young adults getting their eeproms banned.... Get a damn clue, turn the chip off when you go on Live, it's quite simple, even a five year old could do it, literally....

no. they never unflag it

I've yet to see any proof of this "flagging the eeprom".

I've seen lots of posts claiming it happens but no one seems to have any evidence to back it up.

In response to the the original question:

"Can you block XBL?"

you can block you xbox from being able to access computers outside the subnet (ie. the internet). This will not affect xbconnect - since it's your pc, not the xbox that is actually connecting outside the local network.

This info is for a linksys router - other routers are probably similar

log into your router with a web browser (192.168.1.1 is default for linksys)
go to the advnaced tab
click on the edit MAC Filter Settings
type in the MAC address of your xbox

This will block ANY access from the xbox to the internet, so avalaunch autoupdate and xbwatch will not work with this enabled.

Have fun

Did anyone ever stop to think that they have a database with your account information? Say, maybe they detect that you're running something besides the retail bios, and that maybe they flag something in that database that sets your account to 'blocked'? And that maybe, when you attempt a login that they check your account status?

From the sounds of it, you probably think MS has cameras in your house too...

I always make some copys of the default.xbe file and then rename them to update.xbe, downloader.xbe or whatever and repalces the old update, downloader files.
