I just received my replacment console as I had the ring of death, this one is only 2 month old according to the manufacter date. Now my question, if I am going to mod it should I do the updates first or just not connect it to the internet at all and leave it as is. I don't want any update to ruin this one .

btw I have the hitachi drive, does this make any difference with the updates?

Don't worry about it - no updates are going to brick your 360, if it's gonna break it's gonna break modded or not.

I have a 360 with the hitachi and a 360 with the sammy drive both with ALL updates and no problems whatsoever!

Same. The 360 updates wont screw up your 360, even if it is modded (The current updates wont, but in the future, who knows)
