Ok, first of all, sorry if this question has been asked a million and one times. I searched the tutorials, and only found tutorials for modded Xboxes (EvoX), I searched Google and tried to search the forums too, but no luck. And I don't know jack shit about networking except which cable goes where.

Ok, I've got a green debug Xbox (version 5849) and I'm trying to set up my network to my Xbox so I can start dev'ing on it. I am using a older XDK version (4361) atm because my 5849 XDK is complaining about a service pack saying "this XDK only works with the original vs.net 2003". Do I need a matching XDK version to network to the Xbox? I followed the instructions on the XDK, but no luck on that either. Any ideas? Thanks.

Well you do need visual.net pro 2003 for the full installation. Make sure you have installed Xbox Neighborhood. I don't remember if it's installed automaticly or not. However make sure the dev unit and the pc are on the same router or switch. Try connecting to your xbox (using Xbox Neighborhood) by typing the name of the unit or the units local ip. I would go ahead and install 5849 on the xbox. Just run XDKRecoveryXXXX.exe while pc and xbox are connected to the network. (XXXX representing the build #) Look in the xbox development forums if you have more questions.
