I was wondering how you flash the xbox tsop with the Chameleon. The manual doesnt say how it just says to connect a wire to a15 to acsess it. Has anyone successfully flashed the TSOP with their chameleon? Is it similar to the matrix TSOP flash? Thanks

Anyone?

I'm looking for the same info, no luck so far.

I don`t really understand much about the Tsop so I`m not going to mess with it BUT i`d like to understand more about the Tsop and what the benefits of tinkering with it are. There just isn't much info out there that assumes a low level of knowledge!!!!

see my chameleon thread, i did it earlier today

Can it be done with the Matrix/Chameleon comination? The reason I am asking is I want an easy way to mod boxes. I want to know if I can use the Matrix/Chameleon comination by simply lining up the matrix, taping down the Chameleon A15 wire, and flashing the TSOP from Evox. of course for version 1.2 boards you would need an additional wire for the D0 since the matrix wouldnt line up but it would be the simplest way of flashing the TSOP with out soldering anything. I cant try this myself because I am still waiting on my Chameleon, but if anyone can confirm this works that would be great!

It does work, however it is not as easy as i thought it would be if you install from the matrix, this is partly because the matrix is just so hard to position when the chameleon is attached to it. Other than that yes it is possible

Uh, dunno... But I once did a TSOP flash with an Iguana biggrin.gif

Anyway, why get a chameleon and a matrix to flash the TSOP, when the matrix alone will do it?
explicitlyrics100
because you cant do a full 1mb flash so eaily or something as far as i remember. and also you migh be able to do multi bios in future...
icantstandtoburntolong
and the Matrix TSOP flash requires soldering which I am trying to avoid doing since it isnt my xbox that i will be flashing. It will be other peoples boxes and I dont want to risk 179$ every time I mod a xbox.

see chameleon - the difinitive guide (under this modchip installation questions/answers section), i did flash the onboard tsop with chameleon - but with header pin not matrix - but should still be exactly the same method and results. Chris

I couldn't find it, so I'm going to slit your throat.

Damn! Wouldn't you know it, I didn't check the pinned topics. I probably should have checked there first. Sorry, you can slit my throat if you feel like it.

I asked how to flash the TSOP with the Chameleon on the Xodus support boards, they said it isn't possible. Straight from team Xodus' mouth, or fingers, whatever.
Original Question:
QUOTE
I recently revieved my Chameleon modchip from Easybuy and I love it. It's great, but I do have some questions regarding TSOP flashing with this chip. I think I have it all down, but I just wanted to make sure before I dive into it. I have asked around on forums and other places and I have been told that to flash the TSOP you need to install a15 wire - flash the chip with the tsop flash bios - run it - flash the TSOP (its the main option in the evox menu) and then its done. Is this 100% correct? On the other chips (Matrix, Enigmah, ect.) you have to solder together 2 jumper points on the xbox motherboard. Do you have to do this with the Chameleon? And just to make sure, the bios that's flashed onto the TSOP has to be 1MB right?

Their first reply:
QUOTE
in order to use the chameleon for the TSOP flashing
u will need to download a special bios ( not released yet) wthat will have a manbualo with it

stay tuned

My 2nd question:
QUOTE
There's going to be a TSOP flashing bios that's Chameleon specific (that is not evox_matrix_tsop_flash.bin)? I have heard of people, mainly from the xbox-scene.com forums, using the bios mentioned above to flash their TSOP. Should I not use the evox_matrix_tsop_flash bios on my Chameleon? And when will the Chameleon TSOP bios be released?

Their 2nd reply:
QUOTE
there is going to be a new bios (the one you talk about is not compatible with a15 on chameleon) it will be out soon

According to them, the TSOP flash with the Chameleon isn't possible at this moment.

Can anyone confirm that this works or not? I have a 1.1 and when I boot to the evox_Matrix_tsop_flash it frags. Is it not compatible with 1.1? thx

explicitlyrics100: Can you give us more detail about flashing the onboard TSOP using only Chameleon? Like:

- Install A15 (definitly need this)?
- Which mode of the Chameleon need to be in (1,2,3 or 4)?
- Which Chamelon bank to select (hardware or software)?
- And other details?

Since after flashing the bank 1 with Matrix_TSOP_FIX & A15 connect, i do a software bank boot to bank 1 (default hardware boot from bank 0), it boot up as expected Orange/Green flash, but from there, don't know how to do it, since reboot will put Chameleon on mode 0 and flashing any thing in here will flash into Chameleon tsop but not the onbard tsop!

I have two xbox at home an only on chameleon, this is why i would like to got my onboard tsop flashed!

Last question: do the flashed biso need to be 1Mb of 512Kb, since is installa switch to split the onboard in two.

Thanks

have anybody got this work yet smile.gif

Here is what explicite100 say:

"ok, to disable the mod you put a switch on the d0 wire, if d0 is not grounded (the switch is open) the xbox will nto boot from lpc (however you need to have the msdash named xboxdash.xbe on the c: drive. you need to have locked your hard drive aswell.

i had it in the default ship mode to get the 256kb banks, put on the matrix flash in bank 0, reboot xbox, get the matrix flash bios running, flash tsop. remove chameleon or leave it, now just switch the chameleon into a different one of the 4 256kb banks and boot to there then u can put a normal bios back on the chameleon.

Chris
"

So basicly, you will have to do this:

1- Make a switch between D0 & Chameleon solder point and connect A15 to the Cham.

2 - To flash the onboard tsop you will need to bridge the two flash point (front & back). You will need the original MS dash named xboxdash.xbe. Also the Hard drive will need to be locked.

3- Leave the Cham in mode 1, so you can have 4 x 256Kb bios, now load the bank 1(or other) with orther Bios (x2 or Ev) and then 2- Leave the Cham in mode 1, so you can have 4 x 256Kb bios, load the bank 0 with Matrix_tsop_flash_bios.

4- Bootup the Cham, it should boot into Matrix_tsop_flash bios, flash the onboard TSOP (with the wright definition in Evox)

5- Flip the D0 switch to turn off the Cham to test the new flashed onboard TSOP

Note: I don't know in the steep 4 you need to switch the D0 to turn off the Cham, (Explicite100, please comment?) but i guess no, since the A14 is there for that ... anyway, my HD is lot lockable and the orignal one is DEAD, so i will wait a bit to do this trick, because if i boot the Matrix_tsop_flash with an unlock HD, it will FRAG.

Please share you experience on this, thanks
