I have a customer who plays his backups on an Xbox360 with a Samsung ms28 drive.
The game "Gears of War" starts up, and at the start screen, he wait 2 minutes, until the intro starts.
At that time, he gets the error: "This disc is unreadable".
We tried the disc in another Xbox360 with ms28 drive, and another one with ms25 drive, and all hang at the intro part.
But we also tried the disc in 3 Hitachi drives, and there, the intro could play fine.
The discs were white printables, and I checked the mediacode : RICOHJPND01 (DVD+R DL)
I also did a read test, which failed, even I could not put the game on my harddisk.
I told the customer never to use those media, and told him to use Verbatim DVD+R DL.
But he asked me, how is it possible that the intro of Gears of War (NTSC) does not play on Samsung drives, but does play on Hitachi drives ?
Does anyone know ?
