I have a samsung flashed and working just fine. I flashed with xtrem52b. I tried today to hook up my drive to my pc using the enable0800.iso method. My bios detects the drive but when XP goes to boot the pc freezes and I have to restart my pc. So far I have looked around and seen a few things about flashing the drive with a 0800.bin to make backups. Do I have to do this or is there another way to get the enable0800.iso to work?

*samsung is a ms28 playing normal games just fine, have not tried backup one due to XP locking up
*used verbatim dvd+dl for enable 0800.iso burn
*power on 360 first let it read disk then eject disk and power on PC
*pc gets to XP boot up screen and feezes

anyone know what i should do?

couple things to try: leave the tray open while booting pc, also, I had to put my pc's hdd on the second sata port and my 360 on the 1st sata port or else it would freeze. I dont know if this helps but its worth a try.

eject the drive a few times during the xp boot screen. I have heard this helps. I also have a ms28 and have had no problems doing exactly as you say, but I burned 0800.iso on a dvd-r and it still works fine.

tried and no go. I get the windows loading screen when i set my hdd to sata 1 and the 360 to 2 but only a black screen when windows should boot when I put the 360 on sata 1 and the HDD to 2. The drive being open or not does not seem to effect anything. Except that when my pc locks up i can no longer close my 360 dvd tray untill i shut it off and turn it back on. Its almost like my 360 locks up as well?

while ejecting the 360 freezes right when xp freezes...going to try to burn th 0800 to a dvd-r and see

system specs
AMD athlon 64 3200+
2ghz ddr ram
A8N-SLI motherboard with sata nforce4 chip
VIA VT6421 (for flashing, when 360 is hooked up to this the comp also freezes at xp boot up)
sata maxtor 6B160M0 hdd

still no go with the DVD-R. Tried safe mode tried putting the 360 and pc HDD on all differnet kinds of combinations of sata ports...Tried with tray open/closed, disk in disk out, Do i have a hardware compatibility problem? Or do i need to flash with the 0800.bin? If i need to flash with the bin i think i will move on to another method for backups. Or maybe this Mother board, seeing as it has a weird bios, needs some special bios setting?

Can you post the link on where you got the 5.2 drivers?
I have a similar problem. ms28 drive with a VIA 6421A sata card.
When my computer boots up during the bios check, the card reports an error.
I do not even get to the point where it tries to boot to windows.
I was able to flash with the card with no problems.
