OK I would like someone to point out anything wrong with this plan. Ok I have a 49dj hitatchi drive. I am trying to back up lost planet(owned). I have used clone Cd and xbox backup creator 2.4, on verbatim discs. With a 2.4 speed on a lite-on dual layer burner...?? I get the "this is not a xbox360 disc error" These games are burner good enough to work on my friends samsung

More info ~as in your preferred ripping method~
I know next to nothing about the "WX Method", so I can be of no help to you there. sad.gif
All I know about it, is that it's definitely more trouble then it's worth, with having to not only open the XBOX360™ up, but the DVD-ROM Drive as well.
You would also need a a DVD-ROM with near identical Layer-break (i.e. DVD-9), to get the TOC, and then swap the that Disc out for your Media.

That sounds like to much work for me!

If you can help yourself I'd highly recomend you try to get One of the following:

PATA
Samsung SH-D162C
Toshiba TS-H352C

or

SATA
Samsung SH-D163A
Toshiba TS-H353A

Any of these "Drives" can be reprogrammed with the "XB360 KREON v.081" Firmware.
The Benefits in doing this are:

RPC-2 Auto Reset (i.e. Hardware Region-Free)
Direct ripping of any XBOX™ or XBOX360™ Media ~as simple as dropping it in the Tray and hit read (in XBCr 2.4).

Well all my friends work on his samsung fine the one i burned works on his. I really havnt even thought it could be my ripping method, i thought it might be the firmy or burning method...I am trying a different game soon once its burnt, perfect dark, to see if it works.

I know that the I ripped them with xbox backup creator 2.3 and 2.4. They come up with all needed files, and play nicly on my friends idk. Oh yeah the drive im ripping with is the samsung he ripped them with his connected to my computer.

Could easily be a booktype issue. To my knowledge the latest firmware for the Sammy works around this but it is an absolute must for all other drives or firmware revisions.

ok ill look into it any links to i dont have to look so much, about the booktype stuff i mean

Yup, if you haven't got updated the firmware to a booktype setting one then you can burn discs until the cows come home and you still aren't going to get a working backup on your Hitachi. All sorts of firmware updates available at http://rpc1.org. You need to figure out for sure which Lite-On model you have first. An easy way to check and see if your discs are being burned with the booktype set to DVD-ROM is to pick up http://www.dvdinfopro.com and pop in one of the discs you have already burned in your DVD Burner. Select the media ID icon and it will give you all of the info on the disc. Check where it says booktype and see what it says.

good thing you got me before i went any farther with the booktype thing, it turns out they are all dvd-rom booktype, so inturn it must be something else...
