Hi All, I just successfully patched my Hitachi-LG v0078 drive using a combination of 3 different tutorials found on random sites on the net with the 360 Firmware Toolbox v3.0. After this ordeal, I still have a few unanswered questions:

1) As I understand it, the majority (if not all) of my original Xbox game backups will not work on the 360 because of patched / cracked default.xbe files. True?

2) Am I able to flash the v0078 drive with any newer firmwares, or am I stuck dealing with whatever firmware the Firmware Toolbox Smart Hack tool generates for me?

3) Using the Firmware generated by the FTv3.0, am I able to copy games via the PC? Or would I need different firmware for that?

I don't believe you can dump games with Hitachi drives. And to upgrading to new firmware, Firmware ToolBox uses the latest firmware to flash Hitachi drives (Xtreme 1.6, I believe)

1. true, you will have to redo them from the original (tutorial at the top of backup section)

2.only fw for v78 is the 1.6 from toolbox

3. no game extraction with v78 (no ss.bin extraction), so you will need a sh-d162C in your PC

Thanks for the info guys. I found a tutorial from Textbook's "Xbox 360 Hacking for Dummies" pdf that instructs how to copy games with a PC DVD drive & wxRipper... anyone have any success with this? I've made an image using the steps provided, but haven't been able to burn it (DL discs are coming on Monday).
