As much as everyone would like it to be its just not possible to use those views out of library mode

Been away from this skin for a while. Just wondering were I can get the latest version from? First page links to the old version I used to have and I keep seeing references to SVN's but no links. Is this an illegal skin? just asking as it seems a tad hard to grab.

Try using an SVN client, I recommend using TortoiseSVN, check this tutorial written by xboxbox451 on how to use it:

I noticed, or couldn't find rather, a link under programs for gamesaves. I have to toggle between VISION and MC360 when I need to back-up a game save to transfer it to my other xbox. It doesn't happen to often but when it does it's annoying.

When using the PM3 theme, would it be possible to add a function to "Picture Information" that would allow the user to change their home background to the picture they are currently viewing. I only ask because sometimes I'm viewing a slideshow and I think, "that would be a nice background." It would add a little more functionality than forcing users to change it in within skin settings only.

Also, could you add a background folder to the skin settings, that way every time you log-on or navigate back to the home screen, it will display a random image. It wouldn't be as disruptive as the random background generator in the XBMC skin CLARITY since the background in VISION is only visable in the home screen.

I've considered taking the time to learn to skin for XBMC, but quite frankly with a skin as functional as vision available, any attempt at a better one would be feeble at best.

Now with the ass kissing out of the way I hope I'm still allowed to make productive suggestions in this thread.

I've been working feverishly to tag my near 40gb music library collection. I love vision's "list 3" view that gives a more accurate description of the mp3 by displaying the genre, year, duration and featured artists.

How about adding a rating display across from the genre title Of course the rating won't be displayed as I've depicted in my screenshot, I only posted multiple ratings to see what it would like aligning to the right where as the genre, year, and duration align to the left.





Another pet peave about this view is the display of the track number during "now playing" mode. It's only usefull to help sort an album in chronilogical order but not when you are using a smart playlist like partymode. I do understand that I can remove %N under settings, but then you have to put it back if your viewing an album. This issue isn't with the skin, nor is it something that can be corrected in vision itself, rather XBMC. Just adding my thoughts to it...

Hey guys, i got it figured out, i had to delet MC360 for it to transfer, weird. But i put MC360 right back on and everything is gravy, baller skin by the way. Love it.

Just installed but all I get is the scipts-section and the shutdown/reboot-menu.....

Can't find the settings, video or whatever-section..
Any help would be welcome because Vision now starts everytime with my Xbox.

oh I forgot.. When the skin loads, the central menu-thing appears and shows the time..
If I change it to left or right, nothing appears in it, so I can't launch anything.
(not even another dash to upload a newer XBMC)

Is there a way to change the used skin by editing a file or something?

There is a key combo you can use to load default skin (go search the wiki) but if you can ftp in ( if it loads to the skin xbmc has loaded) you can just delete the skin and xbmc will load PM3 next time you boot

I have updated to the latest version of Vision through SVN update, and then used Build.bat.

However, now in the home menu there is no writing to say Media or Programs on the central widget.
Also when I go in to skin settings there is no writing to view, only the boxes to tick or untick.

Any ideas why this is happening Jezz?

One issue to fix is in the album info screen the text scrolls to the bottom slightly too far so that it now overlaps the border at the bottom

was lookin at that xbox blackmarket site the other day and came accross the vision themes and saw the blaze theme, have to say what a class skin, its so polished it almost perfect...

i'm giving vision a trial run as xtv is too good to not use, but it's growing on me [the video media info view is sweet]

would be cool, if it had a direct link to tv shows like xtv tho!

I must have really screwed something up. I loaded the skin and now my xbox freezes on start up.
No dashboard, no FTP, no nothing.

What can I do?

Its not a problem with vision because many people use it fine I suggest you go look at the xbmc wiki and find the error recovery keypress that boots to emergancy ftp or the one that will make it load pm3 or figure out how to make yourself a boot disc with ftp support

I also suggest you don't post it in 2 forum sections next time

First of all I wanted to congratulate u Jezz for the outcome of V-I-S-I-O-N since Nintet9mustang left. Me and my girlfriend love it.
I have a problem. Me and my girlfriend are moving into a new house and we have mini me on the way lol It will take a while for us to set up the house so I want to make it as comfortable as possible for us. We watch alot of TV so I need to get my Vision updated to the latest.
I have a new media center case and a HD componet lead coming for the xbox, but the problem is I cant find the latest version of Vision. Black bolt's website doesnt seem to have it anymore and I dont fully understand SVN, but I still couldnt find it for SVN either.
I have been looking since 12am and its now 8am so please help. You will make me and my family very happy

So anyway since this skin seems to get a lot of love from people I have some spare time over the school holidays and started mucking around making a Basics-101 / VISION hybrid skin ( like they had sex and made a bastard child ) Pretty much its basics-101 redesigned into a vision look but more how I thought it should be.

Anyway I'm only done a few things now its far away from being completed but figured since I think it looks so good I would post a couple of progress screen shots. I call it "Basic-Vision" for now but it may as well be known as Vision 2.0

Oh one side effect for people is since its a remake of basics-101 its really going to be 720p only with basic 16x9 support

Wow, I came in late on this one. Stay away for a couple days...& BAM! Jezz_X hits us up with a new teaser. Looks awesome also, I love the idea of Basics (cause I primarily use media side only) - but LOVE the look of Vision. Looks to possibly be the best of both worlds! Very impressive....

But wait, almost just as impressive is the fact that NineT9 graced us with his presence (lol) & no-one really acknowledged him. I say..."Glad to hear from you" from all of us....

Yeah I've been doing lots of work I really think I will be done in the 3 to 4 weeks period I said a week ago
I've got about a 3rd of the files left to edit (not including scripts like AMT that I will be doing at some point) but all the main ones are done hell people could probably use it allready if I was nice enough because it is fully functional just some parts look like basics-101 still

Right now its got the same viewtypes (layout not looks) as basic-101 minus the list2 view I do have a plan (not sure it will happen before release) of adding the fullscreen cover flow but thats pretty much about it I've gotten past the 500 different view types just because I can.

yeeeeah, that would be amazing... both for music and movies i hope!!!!
