When are they gonna get released? It's been in the works (and it's been discussed) for quite some time now. I just want new maps. Experiencing new environments, developing new strategies, finding the first superjump/glitch, I mean what's not to love? So does anyone know when they are coming out? Thanks in advance!

Are they only for Xbox 360? Last I heard, yes.

The new maps are coming out for both the Xbox and the Xbox 360.

Now, about the downloading and payment and compatibility and all that. It works on Xbox and 360. It was originally scheduled to be a 360 only game, but it just wasn’t going to work out. Number one, there are a lot of Xbox players out there who can’t afford a 360, or are waiting for a birthday or holiday gift – so they wouldn’t be able to play. Worse still, we’d have to split the matchmaking playlists differently and that wouldn’t have been fair either. So in the interests of fairness and an easy life, it’s on Xbox and Xbox 360.
Because of that, we can’t use Xbox Live Marketplace – it obviously doesn’t exist on the old Xbox. So this will be one of the last times you use a credit card proper to buy a map. In the Halo 2 game interface, you simply select the download option from the main interface, and it will show the new content there.
You WILL have to pick which box to install it on. It’s tied to the box you download it to, as well as your Live account, so you effectively can’t have it on more than one system. Sorry.

Yeah i just realized this, when they put the new maps in matchmaking it will be your halo 2 hackers heaven. I will get the new maps. Just won't play the new playlists that they are on.

They aren't releasing the maps on a disc this time around.

This likely won’t ever be available on a disc, like the last maps, so this is your only method for the moment
They did say for the moment, so they still might.

I frankly couldn't care less about these maps. I hated HeH and Derelict. Damn, I'm disappointed.

Then you must be on drugs man! HeH and Derelict were some of the best Halo 1 MP maps ever made! Even though I was really hoping for Sidewinder and Damnation, those 2 are still good! But having to only download it on either Xbox or Xbox 360, that's just dumb! But this has got me thinking: if you download the maps on Xbox 1, can you transfer your account again on the 360 and then re-gain the maps that you downloaded on Xbox 1? Other than that, I was hoping for new maps that weren't already made or re-did, but I'm still happy!

I just realized, they already had started working on the maps well before 11/15/2006. And we only get two of them?

You can't do that.

That's just dumb! My friend will probably never get a 360 (unless I obtain the 360 Elite and give him my 360 that I already own), and he doesn't have Xbox Live. So if I download it on my 360, I can't get the maps on his Xbox. And since my Xbox freezes every once in a while, it's gonna cause some major problems and quite possibly some riots on the streets!

(Not really)

I can't justify paying for these after this long. They put the sword in place of the sniper on the HeH remake. Pretty f-ing lame.

You can't justify paying 4$ for 2 new maps? I would pay even more money if they had more maps.

They put the sword where the overshield once was. The Sniper is in the same place.
