PS3 Dominates Folding at Home Already
Posted by XanTium | 23-3-2007 23:02 EST

It looks like the Folding@home program that came with the v1.60 update is pretty popular. At time of writing 18721 PS3 owners tried out the application already.
That places the PS3 on top of the chart with 435 trillion floating point operations per second with just 17770 active users, compared to only 152 TFLOPS for 159346 Windows machines.

good stuff. i waited so long for folding@home to be rls'd on the ps3. i'm glad it could help out. so basically i spent $600 for a machine that only does folding@home.

Now we need those game devs to utilize the cell as much as folding@home does.

it looks like alot of ppl like to contribute to global warming dry.gif

Its great idea but considering how much power the ps3 consumes and how much ur wasting; you're also doing good by NOT participating.

Just another perspective for u to think about

Man, you guys will spin anything about Sony negative. The PS3 does consume considerably more peak power than the 360, but it's no more than your average modern PC. If you're so concerned about global warming that even a project like F@H is considered a power waster you may as well give up games completely since there is no redeeming value at all in their power consumption beyond personal gratification.
