I am flying home tonight and picking up 360 for flashing purposes when I get home. Also I will be flashing friend's 360.

Motherboard: evga nvidia 680i chipset
SATA controller: Built into chipset, Windows reports it as nForce 590/580
DVD on xbox: Unknown on mine, still have to buy it. Friend has Samsung, not sure which version

Another question, if I get a premium package let's say in Best Buy, is there a big chance I can get something that can't be flashed, like BenQ drive?

Can my SATA chipset be used to flash Samsung? I know VIA is recommended, but I am hoping that hex edited MTKFlash will work too

at this point anything is possible.. however i think the newer ones were manufactured in 2007 (not exactly sure as i have not personally come across one yet)
