Okay, here's what I have:

Xenium Gold OS 2.3.1
Xbox 1.3
Brand new Segate 7200.10 320g HDD.

Drive upgrade wizard always gives me a message says "An error has occurred." while trying to format the partition.

I have exactly same HDD on a Xenium OS 2.0.1 machine, no problem at all. Can somebody help me?

Thanks

the xenium OS will not read Seagates firmware. i had the problem and many other ppl have had the problem. use xboxhdm to format with F and G drives and then use the XOS to lock the HDD.

Thank you very much... Should have checked here before I bought my 320g HDD sad.gif

seagates work great and they are very reliable. the XOS just doesnt like them when formatting. other than that they work fine with it. xboxhdm will do the trick for formatting. remember to do both F and G.

then must be a specific 2.3.1 problem and seagates. thanks for the info and possibly an alternative to xboxhdm. let us know if it works!!!
