I'd like to sample some of the sound files for something... smile.gif

How do I read these they won't play in Microsloth's own Media player, go figure.

First thing try updating windows media player, if that doesn't work try
vlc/media player classic/winamp

If that doesn't work the best thing would be to have a look at one of the KOTOR wma's in a hex editor & then compare it to a normal wma file.

If the start looks like garbage data in comparison then it may be encrypted.

The first 16 bytes should look like this:

Hex: 3026 B275 8E66 CF11 A6D9 00AA 0062 CE6C
Ascii: 0&.u.f.......b.l

Ha ha, I was just getting ready to E-mail you!

Thankx, I'll have a look!
XDelusion
I'll assume it is encrypted because it won't play with ANYTHING and in a Hex Editor it starts with all 0's.

Is there any way to decrypt this shit that you know of?

Anyhow know if the PC version is plagued by this same problem?

Thankfully KOTOR II does not have this problem so, I may not need the files from part 1 after all! Will see.

They probably just stuck Null bytes at the start to make them more difficult to play.

Try using my app, Beta version is here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/c138lf

SCX Wma support is much improved on this version (ogg support is currently broken)

Use SCX to see if it can find the header & extract the files.

It does not seem to want to extract the file, it loads, but says Extracted 0. It does make an output file in its own folder regardless, but even that does not play.

Here's a link to a file I'm testing this with:

And thank you for having a look at this.

You're welcome, glad u appreciate it.

Wma support was totally fucked on the version I uploaded before.

Here is the fixed version (worked perfectly on all the wma's I tested it on)

You just made my day! It works! smile.gif

CRAP, I don't think I'm going to get any sleep tonight, I've got a lot of ways in which I have intended to put these puppies to use! This will save me so much time as now I no longer have to play to certain parts of the game, then hook up my audio to my Amiga, sample, transfer to PC, convert, etc.

Wonderful!

This is by far the most useful PC-XBOX tool to come out ever, at least for my uses!!

Thanks again,

Have another update: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ji8ybx

Supports Bif & Kotor Wma's.

Nicely done!!!

This BIF support is going to come in VERY handy!
