Okay, I am aware that there are a handful of themes out there for xtv, so to save anyone having to wade through the 50 plus pages to find the theme they want or have maybe seen in a screenshot, I thought id create this thread. Can the people who have themes available for download maybe post below and link to them in this thread, or if anyone has mod privilege on this forum and is willing to go through the xtv thread to copy the posts that will probs do as well.

In the meantime I am off to find the theme i was after, i will post the link below if I find it before I give up.

I have all the themes ever posted in a 4 shared account, all you gotta do is click the link under the pic in my signature and you will 2 folders. A extras\mods folder and a themes folder.

I do not have the power to delete threads. I kinda wish I had my own little subforum for my skins like the team blackbolt subforums. I know I only have one skin now but there is more coming .

I download a theme .xpr. How do i enable it?

All skin themes go in it's media folder. Then you just go to the appearence options and choose the theme, it is right under the skin select button.

With the release of Vision Beta, I made a Vision theme for XTV but I am not sure if I should release it because I used NineT9mustangs images. If he gives the ok, I will upload it somewhere.

Shit, too late to edit! Anyway, NineT9mustang has given me permission to release the Vision theme for xTV using his graphics so I will do so in a few days. I just want to make sure its perfect.

Then first I suggest you:

- Release a real Xtv first build (no annoying SVN build-it-yourself).
- Pick a team name
- Create a team website
- Show some of the team's new ideas

As far as this thread goes, I think it's a good idea to have all of the preview images and download links in one place. Last time I checked your download site (CH3If) you can't see what they look like. I realise it doesn't take long to download the themes, but I'd rather decide if I'm interested or not before I download the theme.

Ok. I know it isn't 100% yet. It is 3:30AM here and I am pretty much dead. The icons need to be done a bit better, most of them have a gray border around them. There is also an issue with the File Manager. This will give you a rough idea of that I am doing. So if you don't like it, don't use it!

i think if you are gonna do this theme better the icons would have to be a bit higher res aswell as not having the black box around them - also looks like the default button is a touch short - im interested to see how it looks with a bit more work/time spent on it

If you'd take the 3 minutes that it would have took to read my post, you would know it is not 100%(not even 60%) complete and was put there to give a rough idea of what I was going for.

No need to catch feeling man, he was only trying to encourage you. I know sometimes it sucks hearing not so good things about the work you have done but what is the point of giving it out early if you are gonna react that way to the feedback?

It looks good so far and when it is done it is gonna be a real nice theme.

I think it would be alot easier if you changed the themes folder on the 4shared back to a list view.

Ok, here is a few screenshots showing the basically the icons I redid. I have never claimed to be a graphic artist but they aren't horrible. I will upload the theme again if you want it.

1) Use fora to distribute ?Is this a convenient (i.e. reliable) way to distribute themes ?

All these RapidShare and FilEden links are down when you need them.
Not to mention the blocks after a few uses :-(.

For the moment you can download themes from http://blackmarket.ictcsc.net/index.php
It works but it is stupid that you have to click each individually.
I used Teleport, a leecher, to get them in one go :-).


2) From the XBMX ?The distribution from the xbox using an option in system is not too bad.

But,
stop multiplying 1 theme into many for just a change of colour, background, sound, font.
These can be changed from within the skin: Settings, skin settings, font|colour|sound

Or,
are we as stupid as MS that is doing this to fill up its marketplace (user icons, game videos).
Finally resulting in a mess where most people simply don't look anymore. Takes too much time
to filter the few goodies from all the crap. Come on, we're wiser than that. Aren't we ?


P.S. Thanx to blackbolt for having started the interest in skinning the XBMC with his MC360.
Thanx to all the pioneers in skinning. It's to them we are now receiving an (almost) original skin
as Vison. I say "almost" as it should get rid of this image looking like an iTV in the start menu.

Vision with theme Blaze is 99% original !

I get an error when i click on the xTV themes link, it says "The folder xTV_Themes does not exist."
Did you delete them ? or am i doing something wrong

Keep in mind this thread hasn't active since April, also with FileEden you can't really share your folders, only direct links. So when it says "The folder xTV_Themes does not exist.", it means that you don't have that folder on your account.
If you want to download themes you can use the built in theme downloader in xTV which can be found under:
System > Download Themes
Or if you like to download them from the web and preview them before downloading, please check out the mirror on XBMC Black Market.




1) If you have a better way to distribute themes then besides a forum, please tell us.

Also like we mentioned before, XBMC Black Market is just a mirror/host, for all the themes that has been posted in the past, we don't take any credit for it, we just want to provide you with as much choice to customize the current skin and/or XBMC.
Besides we've added previews to all the themes so you don't have to download them all and complain how ugly or wrong you think they are.

2) Why should we stop making different things, it's not like you have to pay for it, like the Xbox Live Marketplace and besides, it only offers you more options to customize your XBMC, it also gives the people who are not so good at XML or GFX the opportunity to change it to there flavor without having to split there minds into coding and tutorials, but it seems you know so well and so much better, why don't you make some 'awesome' skins or themes for the community.

Just stop complaining about the skins and themes, it's not all about you, there more people in the world that like the other skins and themes, besides you can only really use one skin and/or theme.
