Whats the best tool to use to remove the x clamps from the back of the motherboard without damaging the board itself?

I would prefer to use a small, long, needle nose pliers. You can take the x-clamps off in 10 seconds.. I did not have them last night and used a normal set of pliers and it took alot longer 3 minutes per x-clamp but still no damage to the mb.
