I went out and bought some nice metallic car paint today, I already tested it out on another plastic surface that has the same texture as the xbox. I just need to know whether or not I should prime it, I'm painting the X with med brilliant blue and the rest with sky blue (all metallic), since they are dark colors. If I were going light I would prime, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

Paint sticks better if you prime...make sure you have a few clear coats over that metallic paint

Yea I made the mistake of not priming.. I used car paint at first.. White..

What hapened is it took on a weird tint after because the black xbox behind it.. gave it a green/yellow tint.. even after 2 huge cans of the stuff.

Then i just went and got 2 small cans of model enamel paint and that covered it well.

I think priming would have prevented my troubles.. paint should stick better and you should need less to cover it
