Yeah I've already added that - it's under skin settings

I've also just added an option in skin settings that removes "Settings" from the Home screen and puts it into the sub-menu dialogue.

New dvd style I came up with. Also if Sharpe needs this for test.

Link is broken, but i did get to see the picture earlier with my phone during my lunch hour while browsing the forums.(Yeah, i'm a big xs junkie. LOL) The overlay does look nice, but i would recommend to remove the 'DVD' word and replace it with something like "Play" or something. 'DVD' is kind of obvious with the dvd coming out of the side, or even the case the content might be just video's and not even from a dvd. But play fits better because it's being used as a selection form or description. Just my thoughts of course. But i do like it myself, nice job. No offence meant by my suggestion.
Sharpe, would it be possible, about the idea of having a wrap mode home page, to do something like this, added as a skin option (some other skins allow this, so it's possible by design.) to have a wrape mode for the home page. Like instead of only showing 1 icon at a time, and flipping left or right, it would show say 3-4 on screen, and would flip left/right, so you could better see your selection. I could do up some mockups to better illustrate it would function this way and yet still not loose the beauty of the skin if you think you may have SOME interests in doing something like this. Also, thanks for adding the DVD wrap mode. Very nice!!! Could you possibly have the text on top of the cover, rather then a little to the right like current? Or even below. Either one would be nice.

Hi fella - yeah please free to do mockups, if you don't mind - I'll certainly see what I can do and they'd be useful to refer to. Be a bit of big(ish) job - mainly because of the way the homescreen is setup but it's always possible I suppose.

I've also taken on what you've said about the label being on the right - it's something I was trying but I've gone back to a more conventional label under the image.

Thanks for such a nice skin. I use it quite abit now. Mostly actually, on my theater xbox, which i use mostly. Lemme have some funand see what i can come up with. And other's feedback as well. Hopefully they will look good enough to consider.

This is the only thing I forgot to mention. Is it possable to create a toggle botton for wallpaper for replacement for your "BACK-Row" 800x400 wallpaper. I love the curtains but I thought it would be sweet to have the option to place movie wallpaper that changes wallpaper every few seconds. & for thoughs that don't want it, they can just uncheck toggle wallpaper. Everyone can create a folder & place what they want inside, & the pics can change every couple of seconds.....

When a skin has this many views, and this many toggles......It stands above the rest....

Here are my suggestions:
- In the new DVD Wrap visualization would be possible to have a DVD case overlay? And to put the label on top of images instead that under them (they cover the very nice reflection).
- Would be possible to have a DVD Wrap visualization (with green DVD case overlay) also in the Apps?
- In Music would be nice to have a CD Wrap visualization with CD case overlay and when playing music a new screen showing the cover quite big (with all related info about album, song, duration, etc.).

I hope you can understand what I mean (especially for the last one).
Let me know what do you think about that.

That's now in place - put what ever backgrounds you want in the wallpaper folder (in the skin's media folder) and then select the Wallpaper toggle in skin settings. It will then cycle through your own backgrounds instead of using the Cinema Curtains themed stuff.

Fantastic Job! Wow. The only thing that I really want is the curtain animation back. This really makes the theme in the opening. Without it, it feels like something is really missing. Great job again Sharpe. I just kept the new feature disabled until the curtains come back.

No I don't think so. It looks wrong, imo, going from random custom wallpaper to the curtains opening from nowhere. Just doesn't look right.

Although I could alter your own "home.xml" if you really want it to work that way.

Found small bug in new wallpaper? On the top of the screen u can still see parts of the red curtians. Looks a little funky. Only on some parts of the wallpaper? Maybe u can have the skin stretch out on the sides and top
for the wallpaper. This way everthing looks equally balanced. Nice updates.....

Hey Sharpe, one way i just thought of, about having the icon flip mode on home page, is displaying the icon list on an image of a marquee in the center. The marquee imagewould be added big on top of he theater screen already there. I'll just have to see about how to do a mockup of that.But i wanted to run the idea b you as to how i was thinking about the layout of doing it. Thought that would be pretty wicked.

Okay well I had some spare time today so I've put an alternate home screen in place - I'll probably alter the design based on what djdafreund comes up with but, with all the code in place already, that should be easy enough.

It's selectable in skin settings.

Sharpe, i did not give you permission to read my mind!!!! Wow that's eerie buddy. I had 2 idea's in mind to do mockups for. One was for going horizontal, which is EXACTLY how you did it, filmstrip and all, and the other was goig vertical, using a theater marquee, showing a couple in the list that way. That way i had both sides covered, in case you liked one or the other. Thanks!!!! I will scrtch on the mockup then since it's already what i was looking for.

Man, it's already my default's, and my room mate's as well. VERY NICE!!! and keeps getting better. Now on to some idea's (since your so awesome wth being open minded)

1) Possible to have the 'TOGGLE CURTAINS" when skin option clicked, means it shows it, instead of not showing it. Seems more logic, when ticked is on state. (Tick is enabling option.)
2) Maybe an option to show curtains in wide and big wide views? I know for contrast purposes text might be harder to read when in covers or list mode, but when using wide banners, it won't hurt viewing, since there big and easy to read, no matter whats on background, because of the banners having the title inside them anyways.
3) Possible to include either a 'Now Showing' dialog box around selected when in those views (already has them in most others) Reason, the selected is just a little bigger now, so it would make it easier to see on the eyes which one is actually highlighted, when flipping through stuff. Currently there's only a little difference in sizes from selected, and not selected. Or, just make the selected bigger yet.
4) Make the selected in Plotview bigger then the others ( like in DVD cover view.), to mak it easier to notice. (Not that it's hard now, but just for other people not so used to xbox's, like company or friends.)
5) Also in plot view, tv shows within are showing a blank black box (of course, since a lot of shows don't have specific info for each season.), but a fix could be to also just show the shows info (like it does when showing the actual tv shows themselves.), so it's at least not blank. I don't know if this would be difficult or not with the way xbmc is set up with the xml files.

Hope those are cool idea's for now.

Ooops, missed my edit window timing. After messing with it. I noticed (at friend's house now, using 4x3 tv), that if possible could the home filmstrip be either moved in the center or at least higher like maybe above the bottom of curtain higher. Currently it's covering both the weather icon info, as well as hiding the dvd icon in lower right corner area. Looks great though!!! Thanks.

Thanks Sharpe it worked like a charm. I didn't care for the new home screen personally, but thats the beauty of your skin. The magic toggle. Sorry about the mistake on your name up there buddy. Should have caught that one. Sharpe maybe if you used an animated black film strip centered in the middle with the icons incased in some type of concession glass booth? I don't know if someone here has the ability of the gif's. But something of this nature would be groundbreaking if possable. Maybe have 2 film strips overlapping with one film strip sliding over the other in oppossite directions. Just some thoughts to throw.

Right then I've just updated it to address the covering the weather and DVD icon - moved the weather to the top left and raised the wraplist controls and film strip up over the DVD icon.

I've also had a go at some of your point.

1) Heh - the toggle now reads "Switch Curtains Off"

4) Sort of revamped the plot view a bit to make the whole list bigger

5) I don't think that's possible in XBMC yet - might be wrong though

I've just this minute altered the layout of the alternate homescreen so that the wrap is more central and stretches all the way across the screen now.

Nice fix. But my icons are overlapping on the bottom? I tried making the film.png bigger height, but it doesn't fix the problem? Can u make the film height bigger bro so my icons don't overlap? I also moved all my images up a little in there big transparent box. But it didn't help any. Everything really is coming along nice. What did u think of adding another tab?(music videos toggle)

Sharpe, are you planning on adding your skin to the XBMC SVN list? That would be nice, and it's definitely worthy of it, also would allow users (as long as you put them into the log.) to see each time what new things have been fixed/added/changed for above.

Yes he does. But I noticed a new build this morning but didn't notice anything new in the update. It sure looks good though.
