Heh... I sent him an email about when the maps are supposed to come out so I just hope he responds so I can get ready to jump on gears or play Forza 2... It's an iffy situation. I like it that the maps are free though. Thanks for sharing cosmo

While I like free stuff as much as the next guy $2.50 a map isn't all that much considering how much use I'll probably get out of it... certainly more then $2.50 a song in Guitar Hero

I don't think this would have bothered me as much if I wasn't reminded by many internet posts that we already pay $50 a year just for Live and we get nickled and dimed to death still. I'll wait on until the later months to try these out.

It's not the cost that bothers me. I can totally justify $10 for 4 maps, given how much I tend to play Gears.

My real problem here is that the developer (Epic) isn't free to exercise their own business practices as they see fit. Cliffy wanted the maps free. Epic wanted the games free. M$, the big money meanie, won't LET them release the maps for free which is, IMHO, telling the gamers, "F YOU!".

My understanding is Epic was given a choice--charge gamers for the maps, or you don't get to release them. M$ would rather deprive fans of the game than give it to them for free. Remember, the only reason the 2 maps released earlier were free is because the Discovery Channel payed for them.

Like I said, I couldn't care less about the price. It's the principle that gets me steamed (the older I get, the more things like that get to me).

Yeah, I completely agree. I guess I'll just wait and see how many people get these maps. If it becomes impossible to stay on a server for very long because it's rotating to new maps all the time, I'll buy them. If not I'll just wait.

Anyone know if there's going to be 12 maps eventually, or just these four?
