I have an lg drive, i don't kno much about it. Here's a pic of what it looks like.
The Symbol to the second right says RW and underneath it says, DVD R DL, not sure if that means i can burn them. Sorry but this must seem like a real noob question, but thanks for help.

I'm not sure too, my burner it's a LITE-ON DVDRW LH-18A1P, if my driver can write on a DVD DL, that means that I can burn backups?

If you're not sure what drive you have, you could use a great diagnostic utility called 'DVDInfoPro.' I believe it will tell you what make, model, specifications and what types of media you can burn.
