I am using a D-link router connected to my main computer and a wireless laptop which is downstairs. I want to get xbl working by connecting the 360 to my laptop but I can't seem to get the Ip and the DNS to connect when I test the connection on the xbox. I have read other forums and ICS is the most prominent way of making this work. I have done this, but to reiterate the Ip and DNS won't connect. I tried bridging too but I am inept when it comes to these things. I fooled around with the Ip address, gateway, and DNS on the Local Area Connection on my laptop and got the Ip to connect on the xbox...but then the DNS didn't work. Do I need to insert manual info on the xbox and laptop or keep it automatic? I am getting pretty livid with this whole thing.

Can somebody please help me??? Thanks.

try setting the information manually. try putting your routers ip address as the DNS server, and make sure that your xbox and your laptop are on the same subnet (192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x etc.)
