Hey guys,

I'm a new member here, and I'm hoping I could get some assistance from some of you guys (and gals). rolleyes.gif

First off, I have an Xbox with the softmod.

Here's the situation:

If I turn on the Xbox and start Halo2 without the ethernet cable connected, I can get pass the startup screen and go to the system link menu. Then I connect the ethernet cable and search for a game and start playing. biggrin.gif

Now, if I turn on the Xbox and start up Halo2 with the ethernet cable connected, it stalls at the Halo startup menu screen as soon as I press Start. huh.gif

What could possibly be the problem? unsure.gif

I sure hope someone can help me out.

That sure is odd.

Does that only happen for halo 2 or for all games?

Does it only happen for LIVE games?

If it's halo 2 then there may be a problem with the cache or the game disk.

If you play softmodded without a disk it may be a hardware problem like the NIC.

I had the same problem!! Thats ame reason wouldnt let me play my games I backed up on my xbox.

The solution is simple-->Clear your caches/delete any files in the X, Y, Z folders..I believe thats what fixed it for me. I dont remember exactly if there was anything else to it..couldnt find it in my bookmarks where I had the exact answer blink.gif
