I hope this question hasn't been answered before, I read all the postings but did not find it.

I am running Vista Ultimate and XBC 2.5, UAC disabled and a Pioneer 111D with the official 1.29 FW on Verbatim media.

After I installed Vista, I am creating coasters for the whole family in CloneCD and Imgburn. The programs worked fine in XP, but not in my new OS. I then discovered this great program. I am now able to burn xbox360 backups - BUT - the burn speed is horribly slow. I am unable to burn faster than 0.3 X, no matter what speed I set it to.

I am very happy that I actually can burn at all, but is there any known remedy for the slow burning?

Thanks to Redline for making a great program, and kudos to all for the great support that you are giving guys in this forum!

Sorry for the misplacement of this post, it was supposed to go in the thread: Xbox Backup Creator v2.5

Can an admin please move it?

have you given a look at the pinned of the backup section, there is a tut Tutorial: XBCreator & Imgburn .

Could be it is in PIO mode (it should be DMA).

Hi soso

I have both optical drives on the same (PATA) IDE channel and they are Ultra DMA 2 and Ultra DMA 4. The burner being the latter. This is the onboard motherboard channel.

This is what I get in the log. Note the burn time wink.gif

biggrin.gif yes the first thing I check was that and god, that is a burn !!!

not sure, honestly
I would keep a small Xp partition sad.gif .

can you try disconnecting the other drive , make sure all drivers/update are done (you probably did that already)

sorry, -soso

Well, I haven't disconnected the other optical drive, but I have tried just about anything else. I have stopped all the background programs that might influence the burning, and I removed a virtual CD-ROM that I think is a leftover from an old installation - but still no go.

The problem is that I have to start a burn to see if it worked - so now I am 3 hours into a 5 hour burn.. smile.gif

I am using the embedded burning engine in the program - and it might be thats the one that is slowing things down, but I have been unsuccessfully with the imgburn and Nero engines. I use imgburn for DVD5 and it works fine, its the Dual layers that is the problem..

Anyway. I will try the imbgurn next time, and see what happens. The media is so damn expensive here, so I don't want to wast any more money, but on the other hand - I would like to use my compute for other stuff than burning too biggrin.gif

Thanks for trying to help me out!
