The button is stilled faded even when I am playing a shoutcast stream.

i have no problem using the record button. But i dont know how to use it. Because a only get a log file in the folder.

don't know if this is what causes it, but the recordings tag has to point to an existing path in config.xml

RelaX streams .pls files so XBMP thinks they're MP3s. If you play a .pls file which is on your PC, then you will not be able to record. Play a .SC file instead and it should work, or copy the .PLS files to your Xbox HDD. And make sure your "recordings" path actually exists.

i have configured config correctly sending sc streams to a recordings folder..the prob i have is that when i record i can hear the hd writting i stop the recording , go to my recordings folder , and in it is the station folder but no recording..it only seems to happen sometimes, and i cant figure out why.(somewhere on my hd are probably a gigs woth of music)..any help pls.

Try FTPing into your Xbox and see if the recordings show up that way.
