Hi everyone !
I have an Xbox 360 with a Samsung MS28 and I'm planing to buy a new burner that's able to backup games.
Here are the drives available to me:
ASUS DRW-1612BL (I read it's a good burner)
LG GSA-H50L
LG GSA-H50N
LG GSA-H54N
LITE-ON LH-18A1P
LITE-ON LH-20A1H
LITE-ON LH-20A1P
NEC AD-7170A
PIONEER 112D (I read it's a bad reader, but good burner)
I have been unable to find info about their compatibility for most them (must be newer models or something), so any input is welcome (success stories or horror ones are appreciated) !
Narrowing my choices would be a HUGE help !
Thanks !

The Pioneer 112D would definitely be my choice. Owned 3 Pioneers and they have proved to be hassle free regardless of app. They also have the nice added feature of auto-setting the booktype to DVD-ROM for you on DL DVD+R discs and they will do this with the stock firmware right out of the box. So no need to track down a hacked firmware, do a flash, ect.

The only one I've ever tried was the PIONEER 112D. The first one I got was DOA or I either screwed it up doing the firm ware update (yes to the pioneer not my samsung, I had an ID10T error I guess) but with minimal trouble from Tiger Direct I got an RMA. The new one came in and works like a charm for burning games, but unfortunately it will not read them .

CDFreaks Forums is the best to get general feedback on burners. as far as x360 with the newest fw, most burner do just fine.

Pioneer 112d is a great burner
I've had no problems and it comes ready right out of the box, no need to download any firmware or anything.
I use Xbox Backup Creator with it at 2.4x speed.

Out of your list i would go with the Pioneer 112D burner, the reasons stated above,
I use a Pioneer 111D burner with dangerous brothers firmware update and haven't had any coasters using verbs and Aone media, burning at 6x.
I use this to read and write and both work a treat, So if you can get the burner i have or go with the Pioneer 112D.
My friend has a LG, think its a H54N and its crap, simply put dont matter what media it wont read on the 360, so stay away.

I use the pioneer 112d and it's awesome. I really like that it sets booktype automatically.

Actually, soso did put a thread in here that pretty much does that.
