Yes, i am trying to install a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am on GTA III. I am having trouble doing it because when i click on a TXD after i open it up. It keeps giving me an "access violation at address 00492FD6 in module 'txdworkshop.exe'. Read of address 00000000." What does this mean and how do i fix it? I want to move the texture in the correct order because everytime i replace one it always goes to the bottom. I know that is why it is not working. I know someone can help me plz. Like banshee.dff and banshee.txd always goes to the bottom of the library. Plz help me fix this problem.

Is anybody going to help me? Whatever happened to 82 Z28?
stilts07
Is there even a moderator for this forum anymore? Is that why i am not getting no response? huh.gif

since your using the latest version of txd workshop, you should be alright, but a new feature is kind of the down fall that has you running into these errors.

The ability to browse the gta3.img file within txd workshop. Its supposed to work for pc, but doesn't seem to like the xbox version....

so my advice is to extract the .txd file from the gta3.img file first using the IMG tool:
http://www.invisionplus.net/forums/index.p...mp;showtopic=68

then use your version of txd workshop to open the texture file or use an older version like this one:

also if you'd just like to get the firebird running this one is tested and should be good to go:

sorry for the late reply, school is getting more crazy by the day and work is no better so my free time to work on my site has been limited.

hope this helps

EDIT:
as a sidenote, the order of files in the gta3.img file doesn't matter because the game loads models by filename, not order.

When you manually install the dmagic1wheel_gta3, do you rename the nowheel.dff file to wheels.dff?
stilts07
well, i finished everything got the game to load with no problem, deleted the game saves and at the beginning of the game where u drive 8ball to the hideout. I went to that car dealership to get the banshee(Trans Am), i was so happy but unfortunately when i was almost there, The game froze and made a horrible buzzing sound sad.gif . I tried it again but it did it again. I used your trans Am mod. I was so sure it was going to work. I will try some other way. Is that TXD file supposed to be 372 KB?
82_Z28
the size I have on file is 370 KB (378,920 bytes)
or size on disk 372 KB (380,928 bytes)

As for installing dmagics, just follow the directions in the readme. As far as I know, there should be no renaming.

Do you have any other mods installed at the moment?
stilts07
No, i will just be greatful to get this one to work. I did everything the readme told me to. I formatted X/Y/Z and deleted the CAP_FINAL file. I just don't know what the problem is. I compressed all the images. This is the exact size of the GTA image file that i copied is 124 MB (130,187,264 bytes). BTW, why did you want the to extract the TXD file for? Also, They really need to fix those access violation bugs on TXD workshop.

that version of TXD workshop is more targeted towards pc version usage. Your best bet is to install using the old method by using the TXD as a local file instead of one inside a gta3.img file. Then once its compressed with no errors, then import it back.

Also check to see if another car has the same issue or if its just this one.
