my drive is not recognizing a blank dvd when i put it in after ripping a game. i'm using an SH162C & Memorex DVD+R DL discs, and when i click on the "write" tab, it says "media type not present". and another thing, sometimes (about half of the time) my rip will get stuck at 3.51% and have security sector issues. any help would be greatly appreciate

SHd162c is not a burner (only a reader)

getting stuck at 3.51 % could be the position of your Drive (master/ slave and primary/secondary IDE) or the disc itself that is defective or scratched

In my experience, its better to backup with XBC and then burn with ImgBurn. It seems to be more secure that way and i haven't had 1 burn failure yet.

At first I used XBC to rip and burn, but the last couple of times I have used Imgburn and manually setting the layerbreak - works like a charm! The read times and success rates from booting have improved to just like my original games are

even better now is to let XBC call the parmeters for you in imgburn ( Tutorial: XBCreator & Imgburn ), this way x360 games, xbox 1 game all are always called adequately in imgburn.
