I've just this min finsihed replacing my xbox laser and had tested it with a number of backups and originals and all worked fine booted straight up.

However i've just tested again 5mins ago and it's no longer booting any type of disc. By taking the top off the dvd drive i can see the laser spin up 3 times but then begins too click and do nothing although the drive continues too spin, I've tried the Rubber band trick but no luck.


Drive model: TSH924b
Laser: SF - HD63
discs tried: Vibs, traxdatas and originals



Can anyone help me identify the cause?

did u remove the anti static solder points?

I removed the one point as shown on the guide at (hxxp://www.360mods.net/News/article/sid=92.html)

thanks anyway guys, i've sorted it, it appears as tho i damaged one of the ribbon cables, replaced it and no problems (so far )
